ABOUT ME

Footwear designer turned furniture maker

A women’s footwear designer, furniture maker and mom, Taiwanese-born and Seattle-based furniture designer/maker, Chieh is driven by her unrelenting passion and determination to create unique designs that embody beauty in simplicity, elegance and functionality.

Chieh’s background is industrial design. She designed and built her first furniture during a class at Pratt Institute. She worked as a women’s footwear designer in New York before moving to Seattle. Chieh points to Seattle based master furniture maker Jonathan Cohen, a friend and teacher, as her primary source of learning and guidance.

As a furniture maker, Chieh combines her skills in footwear design and fine craftsmanship to create pieces with a natural flow. Her goal is to build furniture that will last generations, and perhaps one day she can teach her two young kids a thing or two about furniture making.
